Choose a public program, not an unverified event listing

A parade, film screening, exhibition and discussion offer different experiences. The first question is not “What is the most popular event?” but “What format interests me, and what has its organizer actually confirmed?” Kaydar does not treat an old poster, a social-media repost or a previous year’s timetable as proof that a future event is scheduled.

An official source establishes only what it actually says. A festival may publish its overall dates before individual events, accessibility arrangements or tickets are confirmed. Do not fill those gaps with guesses.

The 2026 Seoul festival: a dated historical example

The official 2026 schedule states that the 27th Seoul Queer Culture Festival ran from 1–28 June 2026. The parade was scheduled for 13 June in the Namdaemun-ro and Ujeongguk-ro area, and the 26th Korea Queer Film Festival for 26–28 June at The Soop Art Cinema. The English organizer announcement of 2 June 2026 provides the festival’s context and history. These dates are in the past as of 8 September 2026.

This example is useful for understanding how a festival can combine a parade, film and other cultural programs. It is not a current event calendar. For later editions, follow the organizer’s new announcements. Do not copy the previous route, dates or venue into another year, and do not treat an unannounced future festival as canceled or confirmed.

If a field is not published, mark it “not confirmed” and ask the organizer where necessary. An event should not be described as accessible, free, sold out or walk-in unless the current source supports that claim. This card is an editorial tool, not a database of independently audited events.

Choose a format that suits your interests and energy

A film screening may offer a defined program, seating and a chance to engage with stories without needing to socialize in a crowded setting. An archive visit can be valuable for someone interested in history and publishing. A large outdoor festival may offer a different experience of collective visibility, but can involve crowding and changed traffic arrangements. None is inherently the correct experience for every LGBTQ+ traveler.

Use the film festival organizer for current film information and Korea Queer Archive for archival material and access notices. Check the exact venue rather than assuming every program takes place at the same location. A visitor can participate in public culture without seeking private encounters or revealing more personal information than they wish.

Plan the journey, access and return

Save the exact venue address and the nearest useful station exit. For a large outdoor event, check the organizer’s current access instructions and official traffic information. A previous year’s road closure map may not apply. For a screening, allow time for the published ticket or registration procedure and check the complete return journey, especially if it ends late.

If accessibility information is missing, contact the organizer rather than inferring it from photographs. Ask about the actual entrance, lifts, seating, toilets or interpretation relevant to your needs. If meeting friends, agree on a clear meeting point and a way to reconnect without publishing private contact details.

Photography and participation are separate choices

A public event’s photography rules and an individual’s preferences are not always the same. Read the organizer’s guidance, ask before photographing an identifiable person and do not assume that attendance means consent to being tagged or publicly identified. Respect a person’s choices about names, pronouns and relationships.
